To the world DeGrazia was a
gifted celebrity, but to the Indians of the Southwest he was a friend; to himself, he was
simply "a working artist." The brilliant colors of the Southwest come alive in
these designs by DeGrazia and the heritage of a proud people is reflected in the wistful
dark-eyed faces of the Indian children. Throughout his life, DeGrazia felt a kinship with
the Indians and would travel to their festivals. From his own impressions he created the
now famous paintings of round-faced, somber Indian children.
The DeGrazia® Gallery In The Sun in Tucson, Arizona was his final gift to the
people - a gift that will continue to enrich the lives of people for generations to come.
